This page is designed to answer questions that you as an Educator may have in helping your students apply for this scholarship.
This scholarship is designed to aid students who have had trouble through their high school year. Any student may apply, provided he/she can complete an essay telling of a time they were in trouble and how they worked their way out of it. We are ultimately looking to provide help to those students who would not otherwise receive aid.
Each student must complete an essay, submit at least one reference letter from an employer or teacher and enclose a current high school transcript.
April 18, 2019
The board usually has a meeting in late April to Early May (always prior to graduation) to make their decisions. Many times a member of the board will ask to participate in the awards part of graduation. If a member of theĀ board cannot be there we will contact you with the name of the recipient.
Each selected student will receive a $2,400 scholarship that will be paid out in $600 increments. $600 is sent to the school after confirmation of class enrollment from the school, $600 is paid at the end of the 1st semester (with the submission of school transcript). This process is necessary for the two years in which the scholarship is offered ($1,200 per year). Checks will be made out to the student and the school.
Each student selected has a total of two years to use the scholarship before the offer expires.
A student may use this scholarship at any school he/she chooses. It is not limited to Seventh-Day Adventist institutions.
